Charity Events

At our March social event, Bryn Parry described the work they do for Help for Heroes with such passion and conviction, and his declaration of ‘Give me your money’ did not go unheeded. As a result, many of our guests have since kindly sent us donations to pass along to this worthwhile cause.

Bryn has also spurred us on, at Watertrace, to raise as much money as possible for our wounded servicemen and women. We are organising a variety of fundraising events for 2010, with the aim of raising the ambitions amount of £10,000.

We cannot get anywhere near this amount without your support. We hope that those who heard Bryn speak will continue to support us throughout the year, and, for those who did not have the opportunity to attend, we have up-loaded a short DVD with some information about Help for Heroes.

This charity can proudly declare that they have awarded grants of £34 million since 2007, and, although this is a tremendous amount of money, the support that they are providing is for long-term projects. Wounded heroes will need our support not only today, but, potentially, for the rest of their lives.

Our armed forces are willing to give up their lives so that we can enjoy the freedom of ours, so please give generously. Thank you, we appreciate your support for this worthwhile cause.

Our March social event was held at the stunning Honourable Artillery Company (HAC). We specifically chose the venue because of its strong military links, and we felt the venue appropriate to raise awareness of our efforts to raise money for Help for Heroes. Bryn Parry, co-founder of Help for Heroes, was kind enough to speak at this event to describe both their achievements, and his future vision for the charity.

Watertrace would like to thank our guests for attending, and for being very supportive of our fundraising efforts. The evening seemed to be very well received by all who attended, and we look forward to welcoming everyone again to our future events for 2010.

We are in the process of organising a Wine Tasting Quiz Evening, where you can test your power of taste to discover the answers to the questions set by our Masters of Wine. Business cards will be entered into a prize draw, so do not be shy!

July

We have a Help for Heroes Pub Quiz arranged for July. An evening of scratching your head, and testing your knowledge to crack the clues to be the best table in the house. Watertrace has thrown down the gauntlet, let's see which team can take us on!

September

We have a Summer BBQ planned for September. If you are looking for a relaxing end of the day in good company, with drink and food at hand, then it is a must to join us. Additional entertainment will be laid on to enjoy during the lazy, hazy British Summer evening. The best shot of the evening will win a prize!

November

To conclude our Charity Event Calendar 2010, we are holding a Race Night at the HAC, back to where it all started. You will be able to book a table for your party of 10 to sit back and enjoy the Races in comfort. During the night we will be holding a series of raffles in the build up to the auction. Remember, this is all for Help for Heroes, and, at the end of the evening, we will proudly announce the grand total of what has been collected, which could not have been achieved without your support so a Big Thank You from the Team at Watertrace.
